Sociology student Mel Jeske has received an honorable mention for the 2021 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars! Now in its third year, this award was developed to help promote a culture of mentorship at UCSF, and to recognize the diversity of peer support and leadership among our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who contribute to that culture. The GradDiv received an impressive total of over 70 submissions.

Keridwyn (Keri) Spiller, current 1st year Sociology doctoral student, has been named program assistant for the ACTIONS program: Abortion Care Training Incubator for Outstanding Nurse Scholars (ACTIONS). 

ACTIONS is an innovative fellowship that seeks to connect, mentor, and support pre-and post-doctoral scholars looking to pursue a PhD at the School of Nursing (SON) at University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
