Publishing: Getting started, and navigating types of publications and journals

Unsure of how to get started? Trying to figure out if that course paper/presentation/dissertation chapter could be an eventual publication? Confused about the universe of journals? Wondering what other kinds of publication types there might be besides the original research paper? Bring your questions, anxieties, ideas for papers (however nascent!), and own experiences with publishing for a mix of how-to, collective thinking and problem-solving, and conversation about getting published. We will aim to touch on different parts of the process, from getting started, progressing through the thick of writing, and handling reviews and revisions.
