Our ASA reception this year in Chicago was once again a great time with many students, faculty and alumni coming together to break bread!
In other ASA news, Jennifer James, a UCSF Sociology PhD alum and IHA faculty member, won TWO separate awards: the "Emancipatory Practice in Science, Knowledge, and Technology" award & the "Feminist-Scholar Activist" award Huge congrats to Jen!!!!
Also, our Alum Nicole Foti (PhD 2024) and current Stanford post-doc, won the Star-Nelkin Paper Award for her paper, "Beyond Biomedical Institutions: An Ethnographic Study of Community Science and the Rise of Alternative Therapeutic Imaginaries" published in Social Science and Medicine, 2025.
