Congratulations to Giselle Pérez-Aguilar, recipient of the 2024 ARENET Transnational Fellowship! Giselle will be working on her research "Traditional Healers as a Transnational Portal for Trauma Healing and Liberation Wellness.
The Americas Research Network announces its fellowship program to support innovative research on U.S.-Mexican Transnationalism and on U.S.-Mexican Transnational Communities in order to foster collaboration among U.S. and Mexican scholars. Research projects on any aspect of U.S.-Mexican Transnationalism and Transnational Communities will be considered, but the projects must focus on topics that have not been thoroughly explored and must contribute significantly to the advancement of relevant scholarship. Fellowships will be awarded to U.S. graduate students and scholars with doctorates to conduct up to eight weeks of research in Mexico. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through a grant to the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). Fellowship stipends are $4,000 for the fellowship period. Each fellow will also receive an allowance of $500 for research-related expenses, including travel within Mexico. Travel expenses between the United States and Mexico will be covered.
