Alum Sara Shostak (Associate Professor of Sociology, Brandeis) has won BOTH the 2014 Eliot Freidson Outstanding Publication Award AND the 2014 Robert K. Merton Book Award of the Science, Knowledge & Technology Section for her Exposed Science: Genes, the Environment, and the Politics of Population Health (U. of California Press, 2013)

Alum Lisa Jean Moore (Professor of Sociology and Gender & Women's Studies, SUNY Purchase) and Mary Kosut, SUNY Purchase) have won the Award for Distinguished Scholarship from the Animals and Society Section for their book Buzz: Urban Beekeeping and the Power of the Bee (NYU Press, 2013)

New Faculty Catherine Bliss (Assistant Professor of Sociology, UCSF) has won the Oliver Cromwell Cox Book Award from the Section on Racial and Ethnic Minorities for Race Decoded: The Genomic Fight for Social Justice (Stanford University Press, 2012)
