The Innovative and Critical Perspectives in the Social Sciences (ICPSS) Colloquium returns for the 2026-27 academic year. Through five virtual speaker events, the ICPSS will expose students and faculty to cutting-edge research in the social sciences.

The next event is Nov. 20, 10-11 a.m., featuring Tania Aparicio, PhD, assistant professor of teaching at Teachers College Columbia University. Aparicio studies systems of inequality in arts and culture. Her current research involves learning about how Indigenous and Native artists navigate careers and economic exchanges at the intersection of market logics and ancestral ways of making and knowing. Register for the event.

The ICPSS is hosted by the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Emancipatory Sciences Lab.
