ICPSS Colloquia Series: Dr. Pallavi Banjeree

Zoom & WGVCV View

5/9/24 – 12-1:15 PT

Dr. Pallavi Banjeree, University of Calgary

Dr. Banjeree’s research interests lie at the intersection of the sociology of immigration, refugee resettlement, gender, intersectional feminist theories, and families. Her current work explores how the reception of recently arrived refugees (Syrian, Yazidis, and Rohingya) affects the readjustment and resettlement from the perspective of the families, especially the main caregiver in Canada and the U.S. She also focuses on family dynamics of South Asian immigrant women, particularly Muslim women across class locations, religious practices, immigration status, and motherhood.

This will be a hybrid event. Email [email protected] for location and zoom information.
